Charles Baudelaire's
message in his “Be Drunk” poem is really eye opening. He tells us there is no other way to live,
but to be drunk. But drunk on what? On
wine, on poetry or on virtue as you wish. Just be drunk on life, and I 100%
agree. That is the important part; I
think everyone hits a point in their life where they feel as if they have
wasted their life. They have regrets.
Once you find a passion in something it’s as if you become “high” on it.
You’ve been lifted up and you don’t want to come down. You want to forget about
your regrets and live on something you know you’ll love. That’s how I see
Baudelaire’s words. Why live a sober
life when you can drink to the world you live in? This is a motto that everyone
can live from. I am someone who didn’t
make the greatest effort in, in Baudelaire’s words, being drunk. I stood from a distance and watched life go
by instead of standing in the middle and living it. I can do that now though, I believe my
college experience will provide many life lessons, especially in this
Humanities class and am very excited to see how I benefit from this class!
Love it! (:
